Volunteer gardeners receive a Gold Award from the London Gardens Society

A big thank you to our volunteer gardeners who won a gold medal for the London Garden Society Awards. They were also awarded a Certificate of Excellence for patio pots and containers.

This year Sue Searle and Linda Scar went along to pick up the medals and Sue adds, “The whole team of volunteer gardeners has worked hard throughout the year to create and maintain a tranquil, beautiful garden for our patients and their visitors to enjoy, and we greatly appreciate the positive comments made about it. But the icing on the cake is the recognition of the London Garden Society and we are delighted to have won a gold medal this year, our first since 2007 when we also won the London Hospice Plate for the best Hospice Garden in London for the fifth time. This year there were nine entrants, so the competition was stiffer, but we will try to win the Plate again next year."
