Welcome to St Luke's Hospice

St Lukes Hospice

St Luke's Hospice is an independent charity serving the multi-cultural/ethnic community of Harrow and Northern Brent. Unique in the area, we provide all our services free of charge to all and rely heavily on voluntary contributions from the community to ensure we remain open (we currently receive less than one third of our funding from the Government).

Since we opened the hospice at Kenton Grange in 2000, we have cared for over 1,500 patients within our inpatient and day care units. We have also provided advice and support for their families and carers.

Hospice care is based on the simple idea that a dying patient is a living person, with unique physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. St Luke's exists to support those needs as well as the needs of their families and carers. St Luke's is not an NHS Hospital, nor an exclusive private facility. Providing care free of charge, for rich or poor, young or old, regardless of faith or belief, in a compassionate and peaceful environment, it provides a high standard of skilled medical and nursing care.

Our Mission Statement

To provide specialist palliative care free of charge to people with advanced, progressive illnesses, which addresses their physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs thus enhancing their quality of life and supporting their families and carers.

In-patient Unit
The Inpatient unit can accommodate 12 patients at a time and has a 24-hour specialist trained palliative care nursing and medical team offering symptom control, terminal and respite care for patients whose diseases are no longer responsive to treatment.

Medical Outpatients
The Hospice has a weekly medical outpatient clinic run by our Medical Director, to whom GPs can refer patients.

Day Care Unit
The unit provides up to 20 patients per day with access to clinical services, therapies such as acupuncture and aromatherapy, hair and beauty care and recreational activities, such as art and music.

Patient and Family Support Services
Social Work Service
St Luke's social workers offer psychological, emotional and practical support to patients and their partners, relatives and close friends.
Bereavement Service
