This is a special part of the St Luke's Hospice website which is maintained by the Walks Committee. It will be used for up-to-date information about our sponsored walks, training walks and walks arranged at other times of the year.
Wasn't it a superb walk! Many, many thanks to Lesley Dodd for her brilliant organising.
There is an illustrated story page about the walk here (extra photos went in on 5 June.)
Several walkers have sent their photo collections for uploading so that you can view them on a hosting website or buy prints. Click below to see them in a new window.

We are planning a walk along the 15 mile Epping Forest Centenary Walk on 21 September. Provisional details
We are planning a walk across Exmoor. Watch this space!
For the past 13 years St. Luke’s Hospice has organised an annual sponsored walk and on average over £60,000 each year has been raised by walkers. This significant annual amount has gone a good way towards the maintenance of invaluable clinical services for our patients.
Fun........ the walks are fun, a lot of laughter and enjoyment is had along
the way
Fitness........ they have proved a good way of getting fit and maintaining a
fitness regime
Friendship........ lasting friendships have been forged and people
have been helped and supported in a personal way as they walk along
Fulfilment........ of a personal challenge, a walk you have always wanted
to do
Fundraise........ for your local hospice, to help the people whose illness needs the excellent care that St. Luke’s can provide. You can make a difference.
For some people, the challenge of walking 82 miles in five days is as nothing compared with something new, like getting several hundred pounds of sponsorship. But you will be surprised how easy it really is! St Luke's serves around 600 patients annually, so that each year there are that number of extended families who come to appreciate the value of what the hospice does, in the most direct way. St Luke's may well be the best-known charity in this part of London. Some very practical tips.
Every one of our walks from 1996 to 2006 was recorded in hundreds of photos, and four of them as videos. We've now put together a compilation DVD telling the story of each of these walks, with a commentary and either selected photos from the archive or clips from Jean Pearson's videos. It runs for 55 fascinating minutes. Order your free copy now - suggested donation to St Luke's: £5, or £6 with p & p. Phone or e-mail to Patrick Wyman (020 8863 1662, prwyman@iee.org).
Also: Complete DVD copies of each of Jean Pearson's videos of the walks and the parties, with the original sound but no added commentary:
These four DVDs are available on the same basis as the compilation DVD.
