Walking routes

These routes have been checked in the last six months. The directions were compiled by experienced walk leaders who are members of the St Luke's Hospice walking group. So far as we are aware, no other party holds any copyright in them, and the compilers have granted a licence to copy and use for personal purposes only.

Our main purpose in publishing these routes is to help people who are intending to join our sponsored walk, but cannot take part in enough of our organised training walks. We hope to add to the collection.

• Uxbridge circular via Black and Langley Parks 11 easy miles, passing through very pretty parkland.
• Castle Common and Canal Circular route of 9-10 varied miles from Berkhamsted Station.
• The Celandine Route 13 easy miles alongside the River Pinn from Pinner to Cowley and Uxbridge. Shorter options of 6 or 11 miles.
• Chorleywood and the Chess Valley A circular walk of 7½ beautiful miles through this favourite part of the Chilterns. From Chorleywood station.
• Streatley and the Ridgeway. A 10¼ mile circular walk, mostly easy but with one steep climb after the lunch break at Streatley.
• Great Missenden and Ballinger circular walk 7¾ miles through the quiet countryside to the East of Great Missenden. Gently undulating.

There are also about 30 well-described routes, mostly accessible by public transport from our area, on the website of the Buckinghamshire and West Middlesex Area of the Ramblers' Association. They range from 1.8 to 14 miles.
