Fashion Friday Week 4!

Viv Westwood shoes

This week the world celebrated International Women’s Day so today we’ll be focusing on fashion inspired by some of the most powerful women to date. These women have been setting trends and moulding fashion since day 1, from Jackie Kennedy to Kerry Washington.

First up is this stunning pair of Burberry trousers. Trousers are dominating the formal scene at the moment and with this dogtooth pattern you’ll be making…. While the weather is still chilly, pair this with a red jumper to stand out from the crowd. With these jeans you want to avoid patterns up top so just stick to bright block colours on the top and shoes. Once we reach warmer days, pair this with a mustard blouse and some heeled boots then you’ve got yourself an outfit that would make even Anna Wintour proud!

If you want something a little subtler, why not try this Black and White David Emanuel dress? This amazing midi dress will help you channel you inner Olivia Pope. To add a little more colour to this outfit add some gold jewellery which will really pop with all the black in the dress. To get the full boss effect pair this dress with a pair of heels, or for something a little comfier pair this with some black ballet pumps. If you’re more into old Hollywood, why not pair this dress with a simple pearl necklace and pumps for an Audrey Hepburn inspired look.

Jumpsuits were all the rage in the 80s (Side note: Who’s excited for our 80’s themed Midnight Walk?) but they’ve lasted throughout the years and are as strong ever now! This Lavish Alice Navy Cropped Jumpsuit is very reminiscent of the chic yet simple fashion that Jackie Kennedy made popular in the 60’s. Pair this jumpsuit with some simple and stunning sandal strap heels like the Kurt Geiger or River Island pair mentioned in last week’s blog to really finish off this look.
