St Luke’s Hospice Medical Director rides to raise funds!
Charles Daniels, Medical Director at St Luke’s Hospice, took on the riding challenge of a lifetime to support the hospice.
Prudential Ride London is a 2 day cycling event that takes place each year. More than 100,000 cyclists took part this year taking on the challenge of riding 100 miles through London and Surrey. Medical Director at St Luke’s Hospice, Charles Daniels, took on this incredible challenge and completed the route despite pouring rain, a 20 mile an hour headwind and the coldest day for 2 months!
Charles said of the ride ‘despite the weather which made the ride quite difficult we were proud to reach the finish line and completed it in only 2 and a half hours less than professional cyclist Mark Cavendish. We are always very keen to support St Luke’s Hospice.’
Charles and friend David Landau have so far raised an incredible £4500 which will be donated to St Luke’s Hospice. Working at the hospice, Charles sees first hand the incredible work that is done to care for people with incurable illnesses, all of which is provided for free.
