St Luke's and Michael Sobell Hospice in Northwood will be joining forces on Saturday 28th November 2015 for their first hospice to hospice walk. Harrow Councillor, James Bond, says 'I am organising the walk to honour my mother's memory on what will be the 30th anniversary of her death. My mother, Margaret, was cared for at the Michael Sobell Hospice in the weeks leading up to her passing and I can't thank them enough for the kindness they gave, not only to my mother but to my brother and father at such a sad time. I also want to acknowledge and support St Luke's Hospice, who give so much care and devotion to the terminally ill and their friends and families. One of my closest friends, Charlie Harries, the former Harrow times Editor, was cared for by St Luke's up to his death in January 2014. It is my wish that hundreds of people, if possible, will feel motivated to walk with me.'
The walk will cover approximately 7.5 miles and start at 10.30am from St Luke's Hospice. Refreshments will be available at the start and end of walk. All proceeds and sponsorship will be split between both hospices. This is a great event for all the family and all ages are welcome!
