Welcome to the St Luke’s Walking Club
St Luke’s Walking Club members are supporters of St Luke’s Hospice who walk for fun, fitness and to fundraise for the Hospice. It’s very friendly and sociable, and a great way to stay healthy.
Every year on either the first or second Spring bank holiday, our Annual Walk committee organises a 4 or 5 day fundraising walk for St Luke’s Hospice, typically on one of our long distance footpaths. A group of about 60 people usually join the walk and every year it is a much loved experience with lots of happy memories and connections made. The next one will be a 5 day walk in the Shropshire Hills.
As our Annual Walk became more popular, so did our social walks in between, thus the St Luke’s Hospice Walking Club was formed. You do not have to do the Annual Walk if you join the Walking Club but is a great opportunity to see if you’d like to take part in one of our longer walks in the future.
Walkers of all ages and abilities are welcome join our walking club. Some of our walks are less than 5 miles long and many are between 8 and 15 miles. A few can be between 15 and 20 miles. In choosing a walk, please consider whether it is within your capability.
You don’t need to book a place, just come along. There will be a suggested £3 donation to take part, which will go directly to St Luke’s Hospice.
