19th January 2022 - 30th January 2022 - All Day
Take on the challenge of a lifetime and climb the tallest mountain in Africa for St Luke’s Hospice. You’ll go on a journey like no other, supported from start to finish by expert guides, with all your needs seen to. This is a journey you are sure never to forget.
At a colossal 5,895m, Mt. Kilimanjaro is one of the largest volcanoes to ever break through the Earth’s crust. Your challenge is to clamber above the sea of clouds to its summit. You’ll begin in the lush rainforests of the Lemosho Glades, climbing towards the Shira Plateau – the perfect spot to acclimatise. From here you’ll see your goal: the ice-capped peak of Kibo. Following the impressive Southern Flank, Barranco Wall and Barafu Route to the summit. The Charity Challenge led groups you’ll be trekking with have excellent success rates (96%) for reaching the summit, however, the summit night climb – with its 1,000m ascent and 2,000m descent – is not to be underestimated. This is one of the toughest but most exhilarating adventures you will ever embark on.
