Finance Assistant

Contract: Fixed Term Temporary 3 months (absence cover) / Full Time

Salary: £29,000 pa

Location: Kenton Grange, HA3 0YG

Closing Date: Thursday 31st July 2025

Start Date: Immediate, subject to pre-employment checks

Job Purpose

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Finance Assistant to join our finance team on a fixed-term contract to provide cover during a period of absence. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a dynamic and supportive environment, working closely with colleagues to ensure smooth day-to-day financial operations.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Income Generation

  • Recording and reconciling all income for hospice and retail.
  • Managing monthly rental income and expenses
  • Recording recycling income
  • Providing fundraising department with details of income
  • Posting and reconciling all bank transactions to Sage

Accounting

  • Managing Debtors
  • Ensuring intercompany transactions are accurately recorded

Banking

  • Managing day to day banking requirements
  • Providing provisional cash flow forecasts
  • Updating bank mandates  and managing any banking queries
  • Filing bank statements/bank charges reports received by post
  • Providing the Fundraising team with float money as and when needed

This is an office-based role.
