Light up a Life Celebration 2026
In 2026, our Light up a Life event will take place on Sunday, 29 November, at 4 pm. Mark the date in your diary.
Bookings to attend the event will open towards the end of October.
Light up a Life is an opportunity for you to join our staff, volunteers and the local community in the front garden at St Luke’s Hospice in Kenton to remember and celebrate the lives of those who have died.
During the event, you can listen to speakers, poems, music and light candles to remember those important to each one of us.
It is a poignant opportunity to come together for reflection and to celebrate the lives of those no longer with us. Anyone who has lost someone, whether recently or in the past is welcome.
Our celebration event starts at 4 pm, with music from local community groups and the opportunity to view your memory hearts and in-memory names on our Memory Wall, enjoy refreshments and buy items to support our care. The main celebration will begin at 4.30 pm.

A big thank you to everyone who supported our Light Up a Life celebration in 2025 by attending, donating in memory of someone or volunteering. We hope you found comfort in taking part.
Light Up a Life brings the community together and holds us all tight, as we remember our loved one’s in our hearts, it is they who’ve made the minutes and moments at St Luke’s so precious tonight, there’s not a dry eye in sight as the lights sparkle and shine bright in remembrance in the Memorial Garden. Light Up a Life Celebration 2024
In 2024, we held our in-person Light up a Life remembrance event on Sunday, 1st December at St Luke’s Hospice.
Local families and friends gathered to hear from St Luke’s staff and a family supported by the Hospice.
There were moments of quiet reflection, beautiful musical performances, poems and stories shared. The event closed with the wonderful lights in our Memory Garden turning on, and an opportunity for everyone to walk through the garden to view bricks and plaques dedicated in memory of someone important.
Each light in our Memory Garden represented the life of someone special and shone throughout December. Everyone was invited to visit the Memory Garden at any time.
