Christmas can bring a sense of loneliness and isolation for many of our patients. To them it feels like the rest of the world is celebrating at home with their family and they can’t because of their illness.

“There’s a great buzz at Christmas. The staff wear tinsel, fancy aprons and party hats whilst festive music plays in the background.
Chef Maria is busy preparing a lovely breakfast with smoked salmon with scrambled eggs and there is also Buck’s Fizz. Then there is a delicious Christmas lunch with all the trimmings.
Just to see the smile on our patients’ faces as they celebrate with their families is so wonderful. It’s really nice that we can make it special for them all whilst delivering round the clock end of life care.”
