Community and Events Fundraising Manager

Contract: Permanent – Full-time

Salary: £42,000 per annum

Hours of Work:  Full-time, 37.5 hours per week /requires a minimum a of 40-60% on site at the Hospice

Location: HA3 0YG

St Luke’s Hospice cares for people approaching the end of their life in Harrow and Brent. We aim to give the people we care for the best possible quality of life, every day. Supporting local people and their families is at the heart of what we do – focusing on what matters the most to them is at the centre of our care.  

Founded by local communities in 1987, we have been providing free expert end of life care and support to local people both in the community and from our beautiful Kenton Grange building, surrounded by tranquil gardens.

Two thirds of our care is provided in the comfort of peoples’ homes, as we respect that this is where most people would like to be looked after. Our specialist community team of nurses helps people to manage more complex needs whilst our Hospice at Home team supports people to remain in their own homes by providing practical care and support.

Our inpatient unit (IPU) at Kenton Grange cares for people in their final days, providing intensive care to help get symptoms under control or give respite care. Many of the people who are cared for in our IPU go home again.

Job Purpose

At St Luke’s Hospice, we’re investing in the future of our Community & Events Fundraising programme. This is an exciting opportunity to shape a newly developed leadership role and drive significant income growth through community fundraising, events, partnerships and supporter engagement.

As our Community & Events Manager, you’ll lead and develop a talented team, translating strategy into action and ensuring fundraising plans deliver measurable results. You’ll work closely with the Head of Public Fundraising to drive performance, improve processes, champion data-led decision making and build a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.

What you’ll be doing

• Leading and inspiring a team of fundraising professionals to achieve ambitious income targets.
• Turning strategic plans into impactful fundraising activity.
• Developing new ways of working that improve efficiency and supporter experience.
• Building strong relationships across the hospice and within the local community.
• Using insight and data to inform decision making and maximise income.
• Overseeing a diverse portfolio of community fundraising activity and events.
• Supporting the growth and development of volunteers, supporters and partnerships.
• Driving a “one team, one target” culture focused on making every pound raised count.

About you

You’ll be an experienced fundraiser and people manager with the confidence to lead change, manage budgets and motivate teams to achieve ambitious goals.

You’ll bring:

• A proven track record of delivering fundraising income growth.
• Strong leadership and team development skills.
• Experience of planning, monitoring and delivering against budgets and KPIs.
• Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
• A passion for supporter engagement and outstanding stewardship.
• A collaborative approach and commitment to continuous improvement.
