Caring for people in Harrow and Brent

Asian community music evening raises over £28,000 for St Luke’s

A community music evening organised by the Asian Foundation for Help and Kingsbury Lions Club CIO has raised over £28,000 for St Luke’s Hospice to fund palliative and end of life care in Harrow and Brent.

The event, on Friday 23 October 2026, brought together supporters, community leaders and local businesses, with donations still coming in. The funds will help provide specialist care and support to local people and their families.

St Luke’s thanked the organisers and event sponsors Kailash Manor Care Home, Prime Bank Kenya and Kennford Group, whose support helped make the evening possible.

Lord Popat, Patron of St Luke’s Hospice, addressed guests about the importance of hospice care. He encouraged them to support the charity so local families can continue to receive expert care when they need it most.

Jo Pearce, Chief Executive of St Luke’s Hospice, who also spoke at the event, said: “I had such a lovely evening, it was great fun, and everyone made me feel so welcome. I felt very privileged to be part of such a warm community, with so many people who care about our hospice.

“Thank you to the Asian Foundation for Help, Kingsbury Lions Club CIO, our sponsors and everyone who made it happen. I’m incredibly grateful for the kindness and generosity the Asian community continues to show St Luke’s.

“Your support means we can be there for local people and their families at some of the hardest times in their lives. That means a great deal to me and to all of us at the hospice.”

Ketan Metha, Asian Foundation for Help, said: “Supporting our local hospice means a great deal to us. We have supported St Luke’s in various ways for more than 25 years. It touches the lives of so many families in our community, and we wanted to bring people together to help ensure its care remains available to everyone who needs it.

“I am incredibly proud of how the community came together for this event. The generosity, enthusiasm and support shown throughout the evening were truly inspiring and raising more than £28,000 is a fantastic achievement. I would also like to personally thank everyone who helped with the fundraiser.”
