Annual Walk 2027 – Lancashire Way
Join us on our very special annual walk to celebrate the 40th anniversary of St Luke’s Hospice from Friday 30 April to Tuesday 4 May 2027 for a walking trip along the Lancashire Way.
Over four days you can enjoy some of the finest landscapes the UK has to offer.
It’s a chance to challenge yourself, create lasting memories, and make a real difference for the people we care for.

Details of Annual Walk 2027
Lancashire is famous for its key role in the Industrial Revolution, and often called the “Red Rose County”. It contrasts a rich industrial heritage with spectacular natural landscapes such as the Forest of Pendle and Trawden, Cliviger gorge and Boulsworth Hill.
You will be staying at the Crow Wood Resort, which is set in 40 acres of private parkland with views of Pendle Hill and the surrounding countryside – a beautiful ornamental lake and magnificent gardens.
Choose your walk
Each day there will be a choice of walking distances to suit your ability:
- Ultra distance: 16–18 miles
- Long distance: 11–13 miles
- Short distance: 8 –10 miles
You will be free to walk at your own pace or join some of our experienced walkers, all of whom are friendly and welcoming.
The walk commences with the famous Pendle Hill in the background, associated with Pendle witches and encompasses finest historic houses (e.g. Gawthorpe and, Towneley Hall), pretty villages (e.g. Higham, Newchurch), canals and reservoirs, valleys and hills, and wind turbines across the wild moors.
We will walk in the footsteps of great author, Charlotte Bronte, through Wycoller, site of Ferndean Manor (Thornfield Hall) featured in ‘Jane Eyre’ and across Pack Horse bridges (Clapper Bridge) featured in ‘The Railway Children’. Along the way, we will also encounter famous sculptural features known as the Panopticons e.g. The Atom, Singing Ringing Tree and Duck Pond Farm.
Information evening – Join us to find out more and meet other walkers
Join us at the information evening on Wednesday 11 November 2026 from 7pm at Harrow District Masonic Centre, where you can find out more about the walk, meet your fellow walkers and chat with the Events Team from the hospice. There is no need to register to attend.
