An exciting opportunity has arisen here at St Luke’s Hospice to join our Wellbeing Team as a Complementary Therapy Volunteer.   The Woodgrange Services offers a wide range of wellbeing services supporting people and their families in the inpatient unit, outpatient services and in the community.  You must be over 18 with adequate personal indemnity insurance and be able to commit to 4 hours per week for a total of 6 months.

Please note this is an unpaid volunteer role.

Role Requirements:-

  • Hours of volunteering: 4 hours per week with a commitment of 6 months
  • Adequate personal indemnity insurance
  • A DBS check is required, this will be arranged by St Luke’s Hospice.
  • Level 3 qualification equivalent in complementary therapy and competent in IT skills.
  • Two years experience as a therapist required but not essential.
  • Qualified in one or more therapies, massage, aromatherapy, reflexology, acupuncture, reiki (must be in addition to another therapy), Tai Chi, Yoga and Sound Therapy.

Duties:

To be committed to delivering high quality holistic care within the context of the multidisciplinary team (MDT) and liaising with the members of multi-disciplinary team. Working as part of the Complementary Therapy Team and attending regular peer support team meetings.

Keeping concise and accurate records of all interventions in line with St Luke’s record keeping.

Ensure efficient supply and safe storage of complementary resources in accordance with the Complementary Therapy Policy and all procedures and protocols relating to complementary therapy.

You will be given a comprehensive induction with training provided throughout your time volunteering.
