Caring for people in Harrow and Brent

Temporary closure of the Inpatient Unit (IPU) update

Following competition of a recent assessment we have been informed that work required to safely re-open our Inpatient Unit is more complex than originally anticipated and will take time to complete. As such, we do not expect to re-open IPU to reopen this year.

This concern is specific to the IPU and the particular risks associated with caring for bedbound patients there. The wider hospice environment remains safe to use, and our other essential services continue to operate as normal, including our home care and community care services, as well as our Patient and Family Support Services at the Woodgrange Centre.

We are now in the process of identifying a suitable alternative location to provide temporarily inpatient care during the winter months.

This is a temporary closure of IPU, and we will re-open our unit at Kenton Grange as soon as it is safe to so.
