Gill’s a Lottery winner and a hospice hero
For Gill, supporting the St Luke’s Hospice Lottery has always been supporting our vital service – winning £1,000 was simply a bonus.
The weekly Lottery gives supporters the chance to win up to £1,000 while helping provide expert end-of-life care for people in Harrow and Brent.
Gill, from Pinner, has played for several years and was thrilled to receive the top prize – though she’s even more grateful that her regular donations support such an essential service.
“I signed up because it astounds me that hospices are charities, frankly. And I think if anybody deserves my support, hospices like St Luke’s do.”
As a charity manager herself, Gill understands the pressure of fundraising. She’s also seen first-hand the importance of hospice care through her own family.
“I’ve had family members pass away in hospices in the north of England, where I’m originally from. The care and support for families – it’s just such an incredible thing.”
“The Lottery is an easy, regular way of supporting the charity,” she added. “You’re giving – and you might get something back.”
Her message? “Do it – who wouldn’t want to support St Luke’s? It’s amazing.”
