Call on your MP to back hospice care
St Luke’s Hospice in Harrow and Brent is joining Hospice UK’s Write to MP national campaign this autumn, ahead of Hospice Care Week 2025 – and we’re asking local people to get involved.
We need residents of Harrow and Brent to write to their MPs and urge them to attend a parliamentary event on 15 October 2025.
The event will highlight the urgent need for fair, sustainable funding for hospices.
This year’s Hospice Care Week theme is “More than you think”.
At St Luke’s, much of our care happens outside the hospice – in people’s homes and in the community. We help people stay where they feel most at peace and ease pressure on local hospitals.
But rising costs and growing demand mean many hospices face cutting services when more families than ever need support.
At St Luke’s, it costs £30,042 every single day to run our services – and most of this must be raised through fundraising and donations.
Without proper government support, hospices across the UK will struggle to keep vital services going, from community nursing to bereavement support.
By getting MPs into the room at Westminster, we can show them the scale of the challenge hospices face and highlight the difference sustainable funding would make. The more MPs who attend, the stronger our voice will be in calling for government action.
It only takes a few minutes to help.
Just fill in your name and address on the online form and you’ll be able to email your MP directly.
